Tastings Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 27 September 2026

We understand that plans can change. As our tastings are small events and we purchase and prepare cheese, wine and other produce specifically for the number of guests attending, the following cancellation policy applies to all tasting-event bookings.

Cancellations

More than 7 days before the event

If you cancel your booking more than 7 days before the scheduled start of the event, we will provide a full refund of the ticket price.

7 days or less before the event

Bookings cancelled within 7 days of the event are non-refundable.

However, we will always try to resell your place. If we are able to resell your cancelled place to another guest, we will refund your ticket price in full.

Any refund under this provision is therefore subject to the cancelled place being successfully resold.

No-shows

If you do not attend the event and have not cancelled beforehand, no refund will be provided.

Transferring Your Ticket

If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person. Please let us know the name of the replacement guest before the event where possible.

If Big Cheese Cancels an Event

In the unlikely event that Big Cheese has to cancel a tasting, customers will be offered either:

a full refund; or

the option to transfer their booking to another available Big Cheese tasting.

We cannot accept responsibility for additional costs incurred by customers in connection with attending an event, such as travel or accommodation.

Changes to an Event

Occasionally we may need to make reasonable changes to the cheeses, wines, producers, hosts or other elements of a tasting due to availability or circumstances outside our control. Where necessary, we may substitute products with suitable alternatives of a similar quality or value.

Alcohol

Where alcohol is served, it will only be served to guests aged 18 or over. We reserve the right to request proof of age and to refuse the service of alcohol where appropriate.

We also reserve the right to refuse admission or service to anyone who appears intoxicated or whose behaviour may affect the safety or enjoyment of other guests.

Allergies & Dietary Requirements

Our tastings may include milk and other allergens. Guests are responsible for informing us of any allergies, dietary requirements and if they are pregnant when booking, or as soon as possible before the event.

While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requirements, we cannot guarantee that an event environment will be completely free from traces of particular allergens.

Booking

Your place at a tasting is confirmed once payment has been received and you have received your booking confirmation.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to these booking and cancellation terms.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights.
